Friendly
Warm and approachable, still professional. For colleagues and partners you get along with.
For Windows and Mac · Korean & English
Select what you wrote in Outlook, Gmail, Slack, KakaoTalk or any other app, press one hotkey, and GnarlyKey rewrites it on the spot: friendly, firm, or simply professional.
5 free rewrites every day. No subscription.
GnarlyKey works inside the app you're already using. Nothing to copy, nothing to paste.
Highlight a sentence, a paragraph or a whole email, in any app where you type.
The GnarlyKey icon turns orange while it writes. It usually takes 1 to 3 seconds.
The rewritten version appears right where your draft was, ready to send. Your clipboard is left as it was.
Press Ctrl Z (⌘ Z on Mac) to get your original back, or try another tone.
Write in either language. GnarlyKey answers in the same one, with proper 존댓말 in Korean and natural business English.
Names, amounts, dates, links and product names come back exactly as you wrote them. It changes how you say it, not what you say.
Outlook, Gmail, Slack, Teams, KakaoTalk, Word, Notion, your browser: if you can select text, it works. Even in 한글 input mode.
GnarlyKey sits quietly in your system tray (menu bar on Mac) and starts when you sign in to your computer.
Warm and approachable, still professional. For colleagues and partners you get along with.
Polite, but they'll know you're not happy. For missed deadlines and repeated issues, without burning bridges.
Clear, neutral and courteous. The everyday choice for clients, partners and your boss.
You can change any of these hotkeys in Settings.
Open GnarlyKey once. A short welcome notification shows that it's running.
It's the round blue icon at the bottom right of the taskbar. If you don't see it, click the ^ arrow. Drag it onto the taskbar to keep it visible.
Click the icon, choose Settings…, open the Account tab and click Sign in. Your browser opens; create an account or sign in, then come back.
Select some text you wrote and press Ctrl + Alt + K.
Open the downloaded file and drag GnarlyKey into Applications. Then open it from Applications.
macOS asks for two permissions so GnarlyKey can notice your hotkey and paste the result: in System Settings › Privacy & Security, switch GnarlyKey on under Accessibility and under Input Monitoring. Then quit GnarlyKey from its menu bar icon and open it again.
Click the GnarlyKey icon in the menu bar, choose Settings…, open the Account tab and click Sign in. Your browser opens; create an account or sign in, then come back.
Select some text you wrote and press ⌃ Control + ⌥ Option + K.
Settings › Hotkeys: click the shortcut, press the new combination (two modifier keys plus a letter or number), then Save. It works right away.
Settings › Account shows your free rewrites left today and your credits, and lets you buy more.
Settings › General: choose 한국어 or English for the app, and whether GnarlyKey starts when you sign in.
Every account gets 5 free rewrites a day (up to 500 characters each). Need more? Buy credits once and use them whenever you like. No subscription, and credits never expire.

A rewrite uses 1 credit for every 500 characters (a 1,200-character email uses 3), and free rewrites count the same way. You're never charged for a rewrite that fails. All purchases are final: credits are added right after payment and can't be refunded, so try the free credits first (refund policy). Prices in US dollars; taxes may apply. Payments are handled securely by Paddle.
GnarlyKey only reads the text you select, and only when you press a hotkey.
Yes. Closing the Settings window doesn't stop GnarlyKey; it keeps working from the tray (menu bar on Mac). To stop it, click the icon and choose Quit.
Make sure some text is selected first, and that you're signed in (Settings › Account). On Mac, check that GnarlyKey is allowed under Accessibility and Input Monitoring. If another program uses the same shortcut, pick a different one in Settings › Hotkeys.
Yes: press Ctrl + Z (⌘ + Z on Mac) in the app you're writing in, just like undoing a paste.
Yes. The hotkeys work in both 한글 and English input modes.
Every 500 characters of text you rewrite uses 1 credit, so a short message is 1 credit and a 1,200-character email is 3. Your 5 free credits are used first each day, then your purchased credits. GnarlyKey lets you know when your free rewrites or credits are running low.
No. Credits are digital content added to your account right after payment, so purchases are final. That's why you get free credits every day to try GnarlyKey first. If you were charged twice or your credits never arrived, email us and we'll fix it. See the refund policy.
Korean and English. Mixed text works too: English product names in a Korean email stay as they are.
